  Elder stakeouts! Anyone done one / been a victim of one?

  suppose the elders get an anonymous letter or phone call, or even a brave soul tells them that they no "brother so-and-so" is sleeping with "sister suzy q".

  or a believing jw has a "non-scriptural" divorce, and wants proof her ex is sleeping with someone else.

  the elders' manual says the "strong circumstantial evidence, such as evidence that the accused spent all night in the house of someone of the opposite sex who is not his wife or a family member" (paraphrase) can be used as evidence in a judicial case.. to get such "strong circumstantial eveidnce", elders have been known to "stake out" a house, spending all night in a car watching a house.. in all my time as an elder, i was never involved in one of these.

  I have helped a few friends get their proof. Even my worldly cousin asked for a little amateur PI work. Fun stuff.
  
  In all three cases, the women were very guilty, and it was just a formality. I don't think it would have been fun if there was some doubt.

  dear friends,.

  much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

  however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

  well the new book study arrangement is the newest one but there have been so many more.

  WT views on Jesus

  is this true?.

  the watchtower of february 1, 1978 said on page 18 about jesus that: ... he was the chief son of jehovah, next to him in the universe.. .

  to me this implies that wt teaches in opposition to scripture that jesus is the only begotton son..... "the chief son" seems to imply there are others, but he is 'a' favorite.

  BYU Morman Student Excommunicated & Not Getting Diploma Cause of Conduct.

  anyone else hear about that?.

  this is because of pics he took with his shirt of for a calendar entitled, "men on a mission".... i wonder what will come of this and if legally the private college can do this.

  i'd like to know if the fact that he's excommunicated will bring to light the effects of shunning and therefore affect the jws in some way.... what do you all think?.

  High schools and colleges have kept people from getting their diplomas due to conduct, also.

  Extent of Judicial Comms power ?

  my question is,because i have always thought that the extent of their power was in a geographic sense, their "parish" or territory, i imagined that if i moved congo.

  "officially ",i.e said i am going to such and such a hall, and then never showed up,would either congo.

  have any power over me,even if i had not moved home from the original congo's territory ?.
